Safety

RUMSBC is committed to safety on the Tideway and other waters. Any activity deemed to be unsafe will be halted by the Captain of Coxes. If you have any questions about anything to do with safety, get in touch with Fiona Leaf.

All coxes and anyone in a launch must wear a life jacket. These should be worn over all clothing, including coats etc and should not be removed until you are back on land.

Any boat (rowing or launch) on the water after dark must have lights. Rowing boats should have white lights attached to the bow and stern and launches should have the launch lights found in the bay.

Coxes and captains should ensure that rowers are dressed appropriately. Baggy clothing should not be allowed and rowers must be dressed accordingly for the weather, especially cold. If you have a double outing, bring double kit!
