Despite the torrential wind and rain, everyone rowed a great race against stiff competition. There was also the added rivalry of alumni crews in both the mens and womens division and it was great to see boat club members both old and new cheering each other on.
At the UH head dinner in the evening, the results were finally announced. The tension in the room was palpable. RUMS picked up three category wins – in the Men’s Senior, Men’s Intermediate and Women’s Senior divisions. A tremendous and well deserved result.
Lets hope RUMS domination continues over the coming months. Excellent times are expected for Hammersmith head, HORR and WeHORR!
Big thanks to everyone who braved the adverse weather to either cheer on the crew or marshall the race. Theres no doubt that a good turn out on Kew Bridge helps a crew power it through to the finish.
If you have any pictures of the event, both of the rowing and the dinner, then please contact Sandy. Lets get em in the gallery so all the world can see how awesome we are.
